Mixed first half results for AO World

For the six months to 30 September, AO World grew its sales by 10 per cent to reach £404 million but due to operational challenges in Germany combining with tougher trading conditions in the UK, its EBITDA loss rose to £6.3 million.

“While our core UK and Germany medium domestic appliance markets have been challenging, with the UK market becoming tougher than expected, we take encouragement that we are at least maintaining market share in this core category in the UK and growing significantly in Germany,” said Steve Caunce, CEO.
