After-market car parts specialist Motor Parts Direct has been acquired by Motus Holdings, a South African automotive group. Motor Parts Direct operates 175 branches across the UK, has over 1700 employees and was founded in 1999.
Motus Holdings has agreed the £182m deal with its board saying that the acquisition would fit with its international growth strategy of focusing on the after-market parts business, strengthening its UK and European presence, whilst reducing its reliance on vehicle sales.
Motor Parts Direct’s management is staying with the business.
