Last year Mouser Electronics showed its commitment to the
European market by opening a customer service centre in Munich
and mailing a version of its catalogue with a German-language
outer supplement. Now the Mansfield, TX-based components supplier
has mailed its first fully translated German catalogue. According
to EE Times, Mouser mailed the German book to 25,000 customers
and prospects.
Mouser is also getting ready to roll out local-language websites
for Germany as well as the Czech Republic, Italy, Japan,
Portugal, Russia, and Sweden before the end of the year. The
company currently has country-specific sites for 39 countries,
but while they offer local pricing, they are almost all entirely
in English. (The Japan site is in Japanese, and the Germany site
features German-language navigational links but English-language
copy.)
