Angela Spindler, the chief executive officer of
The Original Factory Shop, is to be Alan White’s
successor at N Brown Group. The multi title cataloguer, which
operates Simply Be, Marisota and Jacamo, sees Spindler join the
company before 1st July. Prior to taking the helm at The Original
Factory Shop, Spindler held the role of managing director at
Debenhams and before that was managing director of Asda’s fashion
brand George.
Fat Face, the active lifestyle apparel and accessories retailer,
has appointed former Marks & Spencer chief executive Sir
Stuart Rose as its new chairman. He replaces
Alan Giles, who steps down from the board after
almost seven years in the role. The appointment adds to Sir
Stuart’s other retail board positions, including nonexecutive
director of Land Securities, chairman of Ocado and chairman of
Blue Inc.?
Department store John Lewis has hired Mark
Lewis, a former chief executive at CollectPlus and UK
managing director at eBay, as its new online director. Replacing
Lewis at CollectPlus is Neil Ashworth, a former
Tesco Direct director.
The Perfume Shop has promoted Michelle D’vaz,
previously national advertising and PR manager, to the role of
brand and marketing manager.
David Arnold, sales and marketing director for
gardening cataloguer Suttons Seeds, has taken early retirement to
pursue other interests. He has been replaced by Chris
Ramsden, who joined Suttons in May 2006 as national
account controller.
Online luxury-goods retailer Cocosa has confirmed chief executive
David Llamas, a former Harrods chief technology
officer has left the company with immediate effect. The
announcement was made as Cocosa stated it would be reviewing its
current product offering and business model with a view to future
growth opportunities.
Nursery and maternity products retailer Mothercare has revealed
changes to the operational management structure of its business
that see the creation of a new commercial director role for the
UK arm. The new recruit will work closely with Philippe
Dayraud, director of product and sourcing, and
Jude Bridge, director of marketing. In related
news, Matt Smith, currently finance director of
Argos, is joining Mothercare as group finance director, while
Mike Logue, managing director for the UK arm,
has left the business.
British brand Burberry has appointed former BBC Worldwide chief
John Smith to the position of chief operating
officer. The company has said that among his priorities will be a
focus on executing Burberry’s brand strategies,
“particularly in digital media and mobile
technology”. The business has also appointed a new chief
financial officer. Carol Fairweather is promoted
from senior vice president, group finance to replace outgoing
finance boss Stacey Cartwright, who leaves after
nine years with Burberry.

provider, has appointed Steve Reid, previously a
board director of DM agency Tri-Direct, now known as Crayon Ci,

Laura Bolton-Heaton has left apparel retailer
New Look, where she was interim multichannel senior marketing
manager, to join online rewards specialist Webloyalty as head of
product, UK and Ireland.
Cloud hosting specialist UKFast has made Chris
Andrews its new director of service. Andrews returns to
the company after a six-year spell away, where he took up roles
including heading up a specialist technical team supporting
public Wi-Fi networks at BSkyB.
Gerhard Falb has been hired as new chief
marketing officer at prepaid payment provider Paysafecard group.
Before joining, Falb worked as an independent project manager for
a number of clients, including Paysafecard group.?
Integrated marketing company The Purple Agency, part of Adare,
has hired Mark Wynn, formerly digital account
director at digital agency 2020, as its digital director.

have joined the project management team of software-as-a-service
provider NetDespatch.
Print and direct marketing firm Garnett Dickinson has appointed
Carl Garnett as managing director of Garnett
Dickinson Mailing. He joins from St Ives Group, where he was
managing director of direct marketing. In addition, Ian
Maxted joins the business development team within the
web offset printing arm, GD Print.
