Etsy.com, a global online marketplace for vintage and handmade goods, has appointed Nicole Vanderbilt as UK country manager. The former chief executive of Mydeco is tasked with growing the business in the UK and accelerating the company’s international expansion. Etsy is also currently recruiting a UK marketing manager as it looks to start promoting itself in Britain in the run-up to Christmas.

Freemans Grattan Holdings, the UK arm of Germany-based mail order group Otto, has said that John Hinchcliffe has been appointed chief executive, succeeding Koert Tulleners.

Online fashion retailer ASOS has confirmed that Kate Bostock, former Marks & Spencer executive director for general merchandise, is joining the company in January as executive director, product and trading. Product director Rob Bready has resigned from the board after
seven years. In related news, David McBride, the former managing director of Amazon UK, joins ASOS as chairman. He succeeds Lord Waheed Alli, who has been with the company for 12 years.

Holland & Barrett operator NBTY Europe has appointed Lysa Hardy as chief marketing officer to head up its sales and marketing divisions. Among other priorities, Hardy is tasked with leading a creative review of the Holland & Barrett television advertising campaigns.

John Williams has joined Norbert Dentressangle Logistics UK as director of its shared-user business unit. In his new role, Williams will take responsibility for a portfolio of 10 shared-user warehouses in the UK as well as being responsible for the House of Fraser eCommerce operation at Milton Keynes.

Capablue, a provider of connected TV services, has appointed Chris Alner, former managing director of Massive Interactive, as commercial director to manage the firm’s client relationships and future business developments. Capablue has also named advertising entrepreneur Charlie Makin as a director following the completion of a successful funding round.
