N Brown Group last month acquired certain assets of
speciality-size menswear retailer High & Mighty out of prepack
administration through PricewaterhouseCoopers. N Brown, whose
catalogues include big-and-tall menswear specialists Premier Man
and Jacamo, bought the brand, the website, the stock, and the
assets of 14 of the 23 High & Mighty stores for £1.6
million. Chief executive Alan White told Catalogue e-business
that whilst the acquisition does mean a move into
bricks-and-mortar retail for N Brown, the company currently has
no plans to open stores for any of its other brands, such as
Simply Be and Fashion World. Rather, White sees the acquisition
as an opportunity to “expand the High & Mighty business
online and with the production of catalogues”. In the year
to 31st January, High & Mighty had sales of approximately £8
million.
