N Brown Group sales rise

N Brown Group has posted revenues of £922.2m for the year to March 3rd with profits up, despite its having to counter exceptional costs including that of customer compensation for past insurance product sales, as well as store closures and professional fees.

During the year Simply Be, the group’s brand for plus sized women achieved a 16.3 per cent increase in its revenues and the relaunch of its JD Williams brand saw a 21 per cent  increase in new customer recruitment.  Just under 75 per cent of customer orders are now being placed online with strong take-up of credit terms.  Additionally the business has made headway in the US market

CEO Angela Spindler commented: “A good performance in financial services provided the group with resiliency to enable us to continue to invest in our customer offer, successfully driving revenue and market share growth. Adding: “Our strategy continues to deliver results, with market share gains in the UK, USA revenue up 21 per cent in the second half, new partnerships underway and almost three quarters of our revenues now coming online.”
