NBTY, the Ronkonkoma, NY-based parent company of UK vitamins
retailer/cataloguer Holland & Barrett, has acquired another UK
brand, the 345-store Julian Graves health-food chain. NBTY paid
Icelandic holding company Baugur approximately $25 million for
the $120 million Julian Graves, which is based in Kingswinford,
West Midlands. Julian Graves will continue to operate as a
separate brand. In the States, NBTY’s brands include Nature’s
Bounty, Vitamin World and Puritan’s Pride.
