Revenues for the year to July 2021 were up by 31 per cent to £563 million at Yodel. The delivery business enjoyed growth in services provided to fresh food & flowers, alcohol, garden, pet foods and retail segments. It had also won business from I Saw It First, Homebase and Virgin Wines.
This came on the back of significant investment in warehouse technology, vehicles and upgrades to its driver app which now captures images for all deliveries to improve service for both clients and their customers.
Mike Hancox, CEO, Yodel said: “We have recorded a strong performance in H1 FY22, and thanks to our people’s resilience and the business’ flexibility, we have achieved significant growth since the start of the pandemic in 2020. The first half of FY22 has demonstrated that despite ongoing uncertainty caused by Covid-19, demand for eCommerce and doorstep delivery services remain as strong as ever and that Yodel is perfectly positioned, and prepared, to cater to changing customer needs.”
