Emma Gilthorpe has been appointed as CEO of Royal Mail effective 1 May. Gilthorpe joins from Heathrow, where she spent 15 years as COO.

Gilthorpe takes up her new role at a challenging time for the postal services business, which Ofcom is currently investigating in order to enable Royal Mail to reform and work towards achieving the basis for future profitable operations.
