New chairman for Holland & Barrett

Holland & Barrett has appointed John Walden, formerly managing director of Argos, as its new chairman. Walden has served as a non-executive director of the retailer since it was acquired by L1 Retail in 2017 and is also serves chief executive of Inversion, a retail strategy consultancy, and on the advisory board of L1 Retail.

Stephen DuCharme, managing partner of L1 Retail said: “I am delighted that John will lead the board of Holland & Barrett through this important phase of strategic investment.”

Holland & Barrett has announced its preliminary results for the year to 30 September showing group revenues have risen to £702.4 million, a like-for-like increase of 3.9 per cent.
