Apparel retailer Alexon has confirmed this
morning that it is in talks with “more than one
party” about the sale of the company. It adds, however,
that this is just one of a number of options being considered.
Further, the company has revised its expectations and issued a
profits warning after it recorded a worse than anticipated
August.

, Michael Sharp has succeeded Rob Templeman as chief
executive of department-store chain Debenhams.

The Independent on Sunday writes that apparel and
homewares retailer Next is in the process of
hiring at least 500 young people for its apprenticeship scheme.
Supported by the National Apprenticeship Service, Next scheme
will provide an NVQ Level 2 apprenticeship.
