Argos is poised to launch a TV-shopping channel
later in 2011. The multichannel retailer plans to launch a
channel on Sky this summer as part of its commitment to offer
“customers a whole range of convenient way to shop with
Argos,” says managing director Sara Weller.

Sales at components firm Premier Farnell for the
year to 30th January were up 24.6 percent to £990.8 million
compared with £795.3 million in 2009/10. Underlying
operating profit was also up from £72.7 million last year to
£112.1 million.
For the first time ecommerce overtook other sales channels,
accounting for 51.1 percent of total sales, with growth in all
regions.

Designer discount etailer BrandAlley has
launched its biggest ad campaign to date to highlight the
expansion of its range to encompass fashion, beauty, home and
travel. The adverts will run in magazines, direct mail, emails
and online.
