Entertainment products marketer the Webb Group
has acquired Book Club Associates (BCA) from
German-based holding company Aurelius Group.
The acquisition adds more than 250,000 new customers to Webb
Group’s 1-million-strong database. The transaction was funded by
the Webb Group’s private equity owner Endless, and terms of the
deal were not disclosed. The Webb Group was acquired in June for
£1 by turnaround specialist Endless from multititle
cataloguer Findel.
Lingerie retailer Bravissimo is one of the top
ten companies to work for, according to the Sunday
Times. Bravissimo jumped 16 ranks from 24th place last year,
to 8th place in 2011. The paper’s “100 Best Companies to
Work For” list also saw luxury-apparel etailer
Net-a-Porter (29), apparel retailer
White Stuff (55), and pets supplies retailer
Pets at Home (77) climb the charts. Online
white-goods retailer DRL entered the list at number 63, whilst
jeweller Beaverbrooks slipped 14 places, from
3rd place in 2010 to 17th place this year.
Bathroom specialist Plumbworld extended its
range through the launch of a new website selling woodburning
stoves.
The domain name of FurnitureToday.co.uk has been
acquired by rival furniture retailer Indigo from
the administrators. For now, the URL reroutes visitors to the
Indigo website, and sales director Tim Lowry told the Furnishing Report that the business has yet
to decide how to use the domain.
