News roundup–Boden gets social, more


Apparel retailer/cataloguer Boden is launching
an online community that allows customers to read and write
blogs, enter competitions, share photos and videos, and write
reviews. The hub is built and hosted by social loyalty platform,
BeAddictive.com and links with Facebook, Twitter and other social
media platforms, as well as with bespoke specifications planned
by Boden. The site rewards visitors with loyalty points that can
be spent on “money-can’t-buy” experiences like lunch with founder
Johnnie Boden.
Following its UK launch later this month, Boden plans to extend
the community site to the US later in 2011.

French Connection, the fashion label, has
launched an iPhone app allowing customers to browse and buy from
the entire French Connection range.

Retail chain New Look will not float this year,
its chairman John Gildersleeve told the
Telegraph
.

Upmarket shoe retailer Oliver Sweeney, which was
bought out of a prepack administration in 2009 by Amery Capital,
has relaunched its website. It selected Prism DM to supply a
multichannel platform overseeing ecommerce, retail and wholesale.
The new site is supported by an iPad app that allows customers to
design their own Sweeney shoe in a variety of leathers.

In related news, Prism DM announced the acquisition of online
marketing agency Digivate. Founding director Mark Bodoano will
continue to head up the business at its Covent Garden
headquarters.
