It was a merry Christmas at Kitbag. The sporting
goods etailer recorded its busiest ever December, with sales up
19.3 percent compared with the previous year, hitting £10.5
million.

December was also a strong month at cosmetics retailer
Lush, which saw sales rise 6.8 percent on
December 2009.

French-based b-to-b direct marketer Manutan and
its UK companies Rapid Racking and
Key is creating a single marketing database
platform to share information across all its business units. The
new centralised customer database, developed by Blue Sheep, will
allow for bespoke and trigger campaigns to be designed and
carried out through direct mail, email, telephone, or through a
combination of channels.

To drive forward its apparel offering, eBay
appointed Andrea Linett as creative director for eBay Fashion.
Linett is based in the US and will be responsible for advancing
the editorial style of the online marketplace’s clothing, shoes
and accessories category.

Plastic packaging manufacturer Linpac has sold
five of its “noncore” business units to Chamonix
Private Equity for an undisclosed sum. The sale includes the
divestment of Linpac Storage Systems, a manufacturer and supplier
of shelving and racking systems for retailers including Argos and
Amazon. Following the sale, Linpac will concentrate on the
manufacture, marketing and support of plastic packaging products
and returnable transit containers.

Dental, medical and veterinary supplies marketer Henry
Schein
, which operates in more than 200 countries, has
acquired Australia-based Provet Holdings, a
wholesale distributor of veterinary products.
