Ocado delivered strong growth in the first
quarter of 2011, reporting a rise in gross sales of 24.7 percent,
to £146.2 million. In the 12 weeks to 20th February, Ocado
took an average of 103,207 orders a week, up 26 percent on the
equivalent period last year. Ocado’s chief financial officer
Andrew Bracey said the business was profitable in the first
quarter.

Apparel retailer Zara has extended its online
reach to customers in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Monaco, and
Switzerland. It now operates in 16 countries in Europe and plans
to open online stores in the US and Japan later this year.
