Sales at shirtmaker TM Lewin have broken the
£100 million barrier for the first time, representing a 20
percent rise on last year. EBITDA is up 5 percent to £14.7
million in the year to 26th February 2011. The company now
receives 13 percent of sales from overseas. In the first half of
the current financial year, sales are up 9 percent, with a 26
percent growth in international sales.

According to the Scotsman, apparel retailer/cataloguer
Joules has contacted its lawyers after a
Scottish designer tried to get his underwear brand registered
under the name Crown Jools. According to the piece,
Joules is also in the process of launching an underwear label
called Crown Joules. Joules was involved in a copyright
infringement case with Musto earlier this year.

Investment bank Goldman Sacks is in talks to acquire debt-laden
apparel chain Peacocks. The

Toy retailer Beecroft’s has relaunched its
website following a brand review. The aim of the project was to
create a distinctive and coherent visual style and tone of voice
that expressed the authentic personality of Beecroft’s. The
company commissioned Alex Ashworth of Manifest to undertake a
thorough review and used Mel Henson from Words that Sell to
establish the tone of voice across the new website. Design work
on the website by Manifest started early in 2011, and the site
went live in early November using the Magento platform. All copy
was written by Words That Sell and photography was by Ian Boddy
and Claudia Riccio.
