Next Directory sales rise over 8 per cent

Apparel retailer Next has revealed that in the 26 weeks to 27th July 2013, total sales jumped 2.3 percent as its internet and catalogue business, Next Directory, saw sales rise 8.3 percent in the period. Next’s first-half year results were in the top half of its full-year forecast and as a result of the combined effect of higher full price sales and lower markdown, the business has added £10 million to its first-half profits and has raised its full-year profit expectations to a growth of between 1.5 percent to 3.5 percent.
