Next has proposed plans to consolidate its Bradford returns processing functions into its online fulfilment facility in South Elmsall in West Yorkshire by September 2024. This, says Next, will eliminate some 40 daily truck journeys between the two locations which are used to transfer stock, both improving stock availability as well as lowering the business’ environmental impact.
Affected employees will be offered a transfer to the new site, some 28 miles away, and there will be a package of support for those not wishing to work from the new location. The Usdaw union is in consultation with Next in support of its members.
