It is understood that Next will re-open its website for trading this week having made thorough preparations to ensure that its operations staff can work safely in the fulfilment of customer orders during the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic.
Many retailers were surprised when Next announced it was closing its eCommerce service a fortnight ago but recognising the scale of the operation, knew that Next would only resume online trading once it could warrant the safety of its employees. As one of the most successful online trading operations in the UK, it is expected to be swamped with orders once it officially relaunches.
Having deeply focused on new working protocols and the development of special induction training, Next will now be welcoming back team members from a bank of over 3000 who have expressed a desire to return to work.
