Next has announced its results for the six months to July 2015. Overall sales had increased from £1.84bn to £1.89bn with directory sales, including online, up by 8.2 per cent. The retailer had closed nine underperforming stores during the period with four re-opening in better locations and had worked to improve its handling of clikc & collect orders. CEO Lord Wolfson commented that the National Living Wage would cost the business £80m over the next five years.
