Nisbets owner seeks investment to fuel expansion

Key West Holdings, the majority shareholder of Nisbets, has appointed Goldman Sachs to identify external investors who could back the business and its ambitious international expansion plans.

Nisbets was founded in 1983 by Andrew Nisbet, holder of a Direct Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award, and is a major supplier to commercial catering kitchens across Europe. It is headquartered in Avonmouth and having recovered from the effects of the pandemic, which caused it to make a large number of staff redundant as demand for its products plummeted, it bounced back as lockdown restrictions eased.  The return to ‘business as usual’ for the market it serves enabled Nisbets to post £420m revenue for 2021.

It had earlier been suggested that Nisbet was seeking a buyer for the business but this has apparently been quashed.
