Norbert Dentressangle acquires US 3PL


Norbert Dentressangle and the private equity firm Oak Hill Capital Partners have announced that they have entered into an agreement to acquire all the shares of the U.S. logistics and transport company Jacobson. The transaction is valued at US $750 million in cash on a debt-free and cash-free basis, plus a capped earn-out related to future performance. The deal is expected to close in mid-September 2014, subject to regulatory approvals.

Jacobson was founded in 1968 and is one of the largest value-added warehousing 3PL providers in North America and had an annual turnover of c. US $800 million in 2013 and has 5,500 employees serving 1,800 customers.  In the UK, Norbert Dentressangle as more than 14,700 employees across 195 sites, 1,700 vehicles and around 3.5 million sq.m. of warehousing. It is one of the country’s largest transport and logistics companies, offering a wide range of services including e-fulfilment, supply chain support for retailers, reverse logistics, and warehousing.
