Furniture retailer Oka, which was co-founded by the Prime
Minister’s mother-in-law Viscountess Astor, saw profits soar by more than 500
per cent last year as the company increased its online and mail order sales.
Profits rose from £233,000 to £1.5 million in the year to January 2013. Online
sales at Oka rose 14 per cent and the mail order business grew eight per cent,
while retail fell by eight per cent due to store closures.
