The Original Factory Shop has posted sales of £208 million
for the year to March 31st, up by 7.1 per cent on the previous year
(like for likes up by 4.2 per cent). Notably its EBITDA was up by 50 per
cent year on year to stand at a pre-exceptional £14.2 million. The retailer
had had significant supply chain problems with a newly introduced WMS in 2014
which have now been resolved. It has also recently strengthened its apparel
buying team. The retailer started trading in 1969 and has 200 UK stores as well
as concessions with a combined headcount of 2800. It continues to expand and
believes there are over 400 more locations which present a good opportunity for
additional store openings.
