Whilst charity trading arms are nothing new, Oxfam is bringing a
new twist to etailing with the launch of an online shop featuring
donated merchandise. Oxfam’s current online offering features new
goods and gift ideas, but it will now add 50,000 donated items
including clothes, books and collectibles. The charity hopes the
expansion will generate £2 million a year to support its
causes. Oxfam says that 120,000 donated items will be on sale
online by spring 2008.
