Since relaunching its website on 10th October, So Raise Your
Glasses has seen year-on-year sales-excluding Christmas
trading-increase 66 per cent. “Christmas itself is ahead of
forecast and last year” added Gill Marshall, who cofounded
the party accessories and gifts business with her husband,
Philip, in 2004.
The goal of the redesign was to improve the customer experience.
Customers can now search by item type, brand, colour, and theme
as well as select the font, colour, type colour, and images for
printed-to-order products from a list of available options. The
new back-end functionalities also enable the Marshalls to
introduce promotions such as twofers and volume discounts.
Marshall admits, though, that “we haven’t set this up on
many products as yet-it’s a job for the new year”.
Developed by long-time eCommerce partner Wired Media, the site
also gives the Marshalls the ability to add multiple images and
descriptions to all images on the site.
Unlike the previous iteration, the current version of the site is
fully optimised for search engines. “All the category and
product pages are now individual URLs in their own right,”
Marshall said, “unlike on the old site, where they were
search pages, and as a result all these pages can be indexed by
