Pepco takes 71 Wilko stores

Pepco has agreed terms to take on the leases for up to 71 Wilko shops which will become Poundland stores. The business also said that it will prioritise applications from former Wilko employees at any of these stores once they are converted.

Edward Williams, joint administrator from PwC said: “Alongside the previously announced agreement with B&M, we’re confident this sale will create a platform for future employment opportunities for people including current Wilko team members at up to 122 locations.”

A deal has yet to be struck for the Wilko brand, IP and online assets.
