Pinterest launches Promoted Pins in UK

Pinterest which launched Promoted Pins in the USA last year has extended the paid for service to the UK market. Promoted Pins are paid for ad units which appear similar to organic Pins and are visible to consumers making relevant searches. It is reported that 1.6bn items a day are pinned by British consumers primarily in recipe, DIY and home decor categories. B&Q, John Lewis and made.com are among the first traunch of UK retailers trialling the service which includes customer journey tracking through to purchase when made. Pinterest is also trialling a Buy Button in the US with several high profile retailers but has no immediate plan to bring this added service to the UK.
