Plumbworld is expanding its existing base and recruiting more
staff in order to keep up with customer demand. The online
bathroom retailer continues to grow at a “frantic
pace”, last year sales were up 40 per cent reaching a
turnover of £9 million, the company projects that turnover
will reach £14 million in 2007. It has increased staff to 40
and added 320sqm of space at its Evesham warehouse, but managing
director, James Hickman, doesn’t think a move away from the area
is necessary, “I anticipate we could outgrow our current
building within two years,” he said. “We have the
option to build additional units on the current site and continue
our expansion here. Any business is only as good as its employees
and I intend to support my staff by continuing to give them
stability and security by remaining in Evesham.”
