Poundland targets 99p Stores


Poundland has agreed terms to acquire its smaller competitor 99p Stores, which has 250 stores, for £55 million.  99p Stores was founded in 2001 from a single shop by Nadir Lalani and generated sales of £370.4 million for the year to February 2014.  The transactions will first need approval from The Competition and Markets Authority .
