Leeds based 88M Group, a property development business, has acquired the intellectual property assets of Poundworld with plans to relaunch the brand. Manni Hussain, chairman of 88M Group commented: “We hope to open 250 stores in 2019 throughout the UK and Europe and 100 stores per year ongoing.” The business has also acquired the Bargain Buys brand. Hussain also said that he is looking forward to bringing the brand back with an unrivalled offering at £1 or less.
