Paul Marchant has stepped down from the role of chief executive of Associated British Foods (ABF) retail chain Primark. This follows an investigation by ABF into an ‘incident’ related to ‘inappropriate’ behaviour last year.
This was apparently not the first issue ABF had had cause to investigate over Mr Marchant’s behaviour. Marchant had been with the retailer since 2009, becoming CEO in 2010.
Eoin Tonge, finance director will assume the interim CEO role for the time being.
