Procook posts H1 loss but remains confident

Procook Group has reported an underlying operating loss of £1.8m for its first half, the 28 weeks ended 13 October ’24. During the period, in which it had opened 4 new stores,  total revenue was up by 7.5 per cent to reach £28.3m with like-for-like revenue up by 4.2 per cent. It recruited 315,000 new customers,  up by 9.8 per cent,  and it gained 11.7 per cent active (L12M) customers to reach 1.1 million.

CEO Lee Tappenden said: “We delivered a strong performance for the first half, outperforming a subdued market, and growing our customer base whilst maintaining cost discipline. We have made good progress against our strategic priorities and continue to invest carefully in the areas that will support profitable growth in the medium term.

“We now expect to open a further three new stores in the remainder of the financial year, taking the total up to 12 new stores and, by closing two smaller garden centre stores, adding a net 10 new stores to our retail network across the year.”
