Currys and PC World beat all forecasts with a record breaking Black Friday which saw 80 per cent of its sales made in store as opposed to online. It was the largest trading day in the history of the business with white goods, TVs and small electricals enjoying very high demand. laptops and tablets sold rather less well. Half year figures for the Dixons Carphone Group (to October 31st) reached £4.3bn from its 404 stores and online channels.
The business is seeking to reduce the number of stores it operates in 2016.
