Delivery software specialist Metapack has released data revealing record volumes of parcels were despatched between the Christmas and
New Year period, with a 69 per cent year-on-year increase. Retailers responded to these swelling volumes by increasing operational hours it says, with Debenhams, Boohoo, House of Fraser, The White Company, Barratts, Misguided, Sports Direct and ASOS among those who had warehouse operations running every day post-Christmas. Metapack even disclosed that ASOS was preparing goods for despatch on Christmas Day.
