Reiss achieves strong Christmas results

Fashion retailer Reiss generated an 18 per cent rise in its sales for the seven weeks to January 18th with UK revenues up by 15 per cent. Reiss has 82 stores and 104 department store concessions together with 40 franchise and wholesale accounts across 15 countries. It is majority-owned by private equity group Warburg sales and profitability.

“We are pleased that Reiss has performed strongly over the Christmas period, which is a continuation of the momentum we have seen throughout the whole of 2019, said Angelides. “Looking ahead, as we start the new year. I am encouraged by the early sell-through of our spring/summer collections and the continued expansion of our business internationally.”

In a profile piece in The Sunday Times Angelides drew compliments from his former boss at Next, Sir Simon Wolfson, who said: ” Christos is brilliant. He is really brilliant. There aren’t many people with his buying skills and there are even fewer who are financially literate and have the ability to lead people.”
