Stoke on Trent headquartered RKW has acquired Andrew James, the £25 million sales online retail business. RKW, which has an annual turnover of c£100 million, designs, manufactures and distributes small appliances under brand names including Tower, Morphy Richards, Swan, and Akai. It employs some 500 staff in its three distribution centres, head office and offices in Hong Kong and China. Retail customers include Asda, Next, Very, Amazon, Argos & B&M, with the business also selling direct online to consumers.
SVG Group which operates RKW says that the acquisition has created a number of new job opportunities across all departments and that six former Andrew James employees have already joined it.
SVG Group chairman Rob Sutton said: “This latest acquisition, in line with our growth strategy, complements our brand portfolio and strengthens the group’s digital capabilities.”
