Royal Mail’s publication of its results has been delayed by International Distributions Services (IDS) ahead of the 5pm, 29th May deadline set for Daniel Kretinsky’s formal offer for the business.
It is being said that the delay is due to auditor KPMG requesting additional time to complete its work.
Meanwhile, there has been much rumbling about Kretinsky’s lack of acceptance of the USO for the current six-day-a-week second-class mail delivery service. He has apparently skirted that, pledging only to keep the six-day-a-week first-class service.
Ofcom is due to publish its recommendations on the future of the USO, taking into account the impact that any reduction in delivery frequency would have on consumers and businesses that depend upon the use of second-class mail delivery services.
