Royal Mail shipped 117 million additional parcels between March 28th and June 28th this year than it did during the same period in 2019. The level of activity has continued at a higher level however this has been offset by a drop in letter volumes. 33 per cent fewer letters were posted between March 28th and June 28th.
The national carrier is integrating Parcelforce into Royal Mail and is, in addition, overhauling its management structure. Around 2000 management jobs are expected to go.
