Royal Mail is launching a pilot of Sunday openings at around 1000 of its delivery offices across the UK from 7th September. It will also commence a trial of Sunday deliveries to addresses within the M25 motorway. The initiative is designed to make it easier for online shoppers not at home during the week to get their parcels. Delivery offices taking part will open from 12 noon until 4pm.
Royal Mail’s network of around 1400 delivery offices is currently open six days a week. The initiative will extend the opening hours of those delivery offices with the highest parceol volumes to seven days a week. In addition, 1600 Post Office branches are also open on Sundays.
