Royal Mail sets aside £18m to settle French action


Royal Mail,  which announced in July  that its French parcel delivery business, GLS France,  had received notice from French competition authorities alleging breaches of anti-trust laws, has set aside £18 million to cover the costs of settling the competition enquiry and associated legal costs.  TNT Express and FedEx have also fallen under investigation following alleged “anti-competitive behaviour”,  with the former having set aside £39 million to cover its expected fine and legal costs..
