Royal Mail has announced that it is trialling an extension to its Post Office network for customers making returns to retailers using its pre-paid returns service. The drop off points in outlets like garages and convenience stores which are open for business for extended hours brings the number of Royal Mail drop – off points to 11,650, including its 11,500 Post Office branches which already offer the service.
Royal Mail estimates that as many as 1 in 10 of every home shopping orders results in a full or partial return and it is keen to ensure that it meets demand which has included it extending opening hours across its own network including the opening of 2,00 branches on Sundays.
