Scholastic Group, the children’s and schoolbook publisher and
distributor, has confirmed that it is in talks with potential
buyers for its Grolier UK business. Grolier, a direct marketer of
children’s books, CD-ROMs and DVDs, has its UK headquarters in
Norwich. According to reports, a 90-day consultation process with
staff about redundancies has begun and affects approximately 100
jobs. Grolier has been established in the UK since 1974, becoming
part of Scholastic in 2000.
