Six new stores and new ranges were behind a 15.4 per cent rise in like-for-like sales at Screwfix for the quarter to May 2nd. In contrast parent B&Q overall group like-for-like sales in the UK were up by just 0.8 per cent. The group is continuing with its plan to close a number of underperforming B&Q stores, a significant number of which have been sold.
