Having delisted from the LSE earlier this year Select Fashions, which had closed 35 stores at the time, has now called in Michael Solomons and Andrew Pear of Moorfields as joint liquidators. 70 stores are set to close with several hundred jobs at risk.
The news has come as little surprise with many lower-end fashion retailers finding conditions tougher than ever with consumers buying less as well as less frequently and the imminent impact of increased staff costs being a final nail in the proverbial coffin.
