With £1.69 billion sales recorded for the year to 30 June 2013, Shop Direct which operates a range of direct brands including very, isme, K and Littlewoods has reported its first ore-tax profit in a decade. Sales for very and isme grew by 18 per cent and overall some 78 per cent of its sales were completed online during the year. 27 per cent of those online sales were made using mobile devices. The business says it reduced its commitment to print catalogues, halving the volume distributed to 4 million from over 8 million in 2012. The business’ CEO Alex Baldock confirmed that his group would be focusing on further growth with “world class personalisation” at its heart.
