Simon Jersey parent sold to Kwintet

Mercatura Group, parent company of workwear marketer Simon
Jersey, has been acquired by Swedish workwear merchant Kwintet.
Mercatura Holdings was a business-to-business division of
Arcandor, formerly KarstadtQuelle, which last year decided to
divest all noncore activities. In addition to Simon Jersey,
Mercatura includes the Bragard, clinic+job-dress, DK Profashion
and Koppe brands.

The acquisition of €130 million Mercatura is Kwintet’s
largest so far, complementing its purchases of the Dutch
servicewear supplier Labels and the Cotton Group in Belgium.
Kwintet is owned by Industri Kapital, which acquired the Wehkamp
home shopping business from GUS in January 2006.
