Slapped wrist for Amazon negative option ruse


The Advertising Standards Authority has insisted that Amazon withdraws its misleading promotion for its Prime service which had been promoted as offering  as a free trial without drawing attention to the fact that consumers needed to cancel the service at the end of the 30 day trial or be locked into a £79 annual subscription.  The terms were embedded in very small print and not referenced in the main body of the promotion.
